The Story behind 125 Years : Started by 14-year-old George A. Steiner in 1889 with only a handful of cloth towels, Alsco has grown from humble beginnings into a global leader in the textile industry. The history and success of Alsco is a tribute not only to George, but to four generations of the Steiner family and their committed leadership.
Alsco’s 125th AnniversaryGeorge and his brother Frank joined as equal partners two years after George first purchased the fledgling enterprise, and they became an unstoppable pair. The young founders were determined to grow their laundry business; whether they stayed up late to sew bib aprons on rented sewing machines in their home or weathered tough times by boldly branching out from a struggling economy in Lincoln, Nebraska, to a thriving Salt Lake City that was in the middle of a boom era.
Today Alsco has expanded worldwide to 150 plus locations in fourteen countries, including the United States.
